Behind the Blooms: 10 Things I’m Doing on Site Before Your Flowers Are Even Placed
As your wedding florist in France, what I do goes far beyond dropping off centerpieces and heading home. Long before you walk down the aisle or step into your reception space, I’m already on site—troubleshooting, styling, and making sure everything is exactly how it should be.
Here’s a little peek behind the scenes of what I’m really doing before the flowers even land in your hands:
I never leave the venue until everything is in its place
1. Walking the Venue to Double-Check Lighting & Layout
Natural light changes everything—from flower colors to photography. I scout your ceremony and reception spaces to be sure each floral piece will look its best where it’s placed. My background is in photography so I view everything from a camera lens and pick the best options to make sure the flowers are captured perfectly for your forever portraits.
2. Coordinating With Your Planner or Venue Staff
From table layouts to ceremony arch timing, I’m checking in with your team to ensure we’re all moving in sync.
3. Fixing What No One Told You Was Off
I want to have every stem in its place like a work of art
Wind blowing the linens? Chair ribbons tangled? I’ll fix it. I’m trained to notice things before they become a problem—and quietly solve them. My goal is always to make your day perfect like it was mine.
4. Refluffing Bouquets After Travel
Your bouquets are hydrated, refreshed, and fluffed to perfection before you ever lay eyes on them.
5. Climbing Ladders and Crawling Under Tables
Floral installations require more agility than you’d think—especially when ivy vines are going overhead and delicate blooms need placing just right.
6. Rearranging or Straightening Ceremony Chairs
Yes, I’ve been known to realign chairs so everything looks flawless when your guests arrive. Just recently I redid the chair layout because there would have been guests with a bush in front of them making it impossible to see the ceremony!
7. Checking Weather & Adjusting As Needed
Rain? Heatwave? Sudden gusts of wind? I’ve got backup plans and supplies ready, because outdoor weddings need flexible thinking. Sometimes the flowers don’t go out until the last possible minute. It can be quite nail-biting!
8. Styling the Flat Lay for Your Photographer
You will always find this florist on the job! I don’t take a break until I’m done.
I often collaborate with your photographer to style florals and details—ensuring those heirloom invitations and rings are photographed beautifully.
9. Catching My Breath and Double-Checking Every Detail
Before you see your florals, I pause and review everything. I ask myself: Does this tell their story?
10. Smiling Like It’s My Own Wedding
Because honestly—I care that much. I know how much this day means, and every flower is placed with heart.
It’s Not Just About Flowers—It’s About Your Experience
Your florals are more than decor—they’re part of the atmosphere, the emotion, the memory. I bring more than bouquets. I bring presence, intention, and the kind of behind-the-scenes magic that lets you enjoy the moment.
